Romeo and Juliet/Void

For this production the scenic budget was $5,000 with a crew of student staff and intro to technical theatre students. Construction happened in the Arizona State University Fine Arts Center Scene Shop (3,360 sq ft wood and metal shop) then loaded into the ASU Galvin Playhouse (proscenium stage with 481 seats). The set included: -backdrop that transitioned into the stage floor

-Automated doors in the center of the backdrop

-Red fabric which flew out of a small hole in the door, stretched out, then kabuki dropped

-Flying chairs

The show opened November 2014.
